After Grab, Here's the Second Decacorn in Southeast Asia
Indonesia's ride-hailing service Gojek finally reaches Decacorn status (companies valued over $10 billion) after its valuation hit US$10 billion, according to research institution CB Insights. Previously, Gojek had secured capital injections from some heavyweight investors which includes Google, Tencent Holdings, Temasek Holdings, Astra International and Meituan Dianping.
Gojek gathered capital injection of $1.5 billion from a number of investors in 2018 and $1 billion in the first quarter of 2019.
In the The Global Unicorn Club (Current Private Companies Valued At $1B+), Gojek ranks 19th below its regional rival Grab at #13th, which became a Decacorn in February 2019.
